Imagine being transported back in time to 1930s New Zealand.

How did your relatives cope with no television, computers, dishwashers, automatic washing machines and cell phones?

Most food would have been made from scratch.

Visualise smelling the aroma of freshly baked scones wafting in from a 1930s kitchen and hear the sound of wood being chopped outside.

People would mostly drink tea and everything would be cooked on or in a stove fuelled by wood. Wednesday to Come, a play written by New Zealand playwright Renée, focusses on four generations of women in one family. These working class women are already working hard to manage day-to-day life when they are faced with even more adversity.

Gradually the details of their lives are revealed as the action plays out, as well as the shocking circumstances surrounding a recent life changing event.

Wednesday to Come is a celebration of strength and resilience and coping with whatever life throws at you. Mirroring modern society, there are strong family bonds, a love of music, and family secrets.

The show dates for Wednesday to Come are 11 to 21 April 2012 at 8 pm with a 4 pm matinee on Sunday 15 April 2012.

Please note there is no performance on Monday 16 April.
